Regional BMP Database

The Regional BMP Database provides an online resource of model stormwater best management practices (BMPs) implemented in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The T-VSSI database is an online tool facilitating the transfer of technology to those wishing to better understand or build BMP projects. The database contains project descriptions, costs, photos, plant lists and planting diagrams, design drawings and other material. To obtain additional information on a project or to arrange a site visit, please use the contact information provided on each project profile.

In 2008, the T-VSSI formed a partnership with the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) Office of Watersheds to jointly solicit projects for their Stormwater BMP Recognition Program and the T-VSSI Regional BMP Database. All projects submitted for this recognition award will be added to the database, if appropriate, and projects receiving recognition will be highlighted. A Call for BMP Projects for the database and recognition program will be announced in time with the bi-annual PA Stormwater Management Symposium sponsored by the Villanova Urban Stormwater Program and hosted at Villanova University.

Prior to forming this partnership with the PWD, T-VSSI researchers identified projects for inclusion in the database by working with the Pennsylvania Environmental Council to highlight their model retrofit designs, the PA Department of Environmental Protection Growing Greener program to highlight BMP projects that received funding and the Montgomery County Soil Conservation District to include BMP projects from its Seeing is Believing program.
