During the last two years
the T-VSSI has conducted evaluation surveys of its public education and
outreach events to determine participants’ educational needs regarding
stormwater best management practices as well as to develop targeted
outreach programs. For example, the BMP Inspection and Monitoring Seminar
and Tour held on August 14, 2008 was developed by the T-VSSI in response
to findings from data collected at the PA Stormwater Symposium 2007. The
report highlighting the findings of the surveys conducted to date is now
available for the public to review by clicking on the link below. Technical Advisory Committee The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) was fashioned from VUSP’s existing panel of technical experts. This was accomplished by adding two representatives from the CSC to the VUSP’s panel. The TAC provides technical expertise to the design and implementation of BMPs, develops protocol to measure the Technical Program’s outcomes, and prepares an annual report. Public Outreach On June 11, 2006, the T-VSSI hosted its first Public Outreach meeting at Temple University Ambler. Twelve individuals attended representing county planning departments, conservation districts, watershed partnerships, and environmental organizations.
