EarthFest 2013 is right around the corner!
Friday, April 26, 2013
9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Rain or shine!
As the event continues to grow, so does the need for volunteers!
Last year's event — with about 90 exhibitors and more than 10,000 visitors — could not have been successful without the help of volunteers, including students, staff, faculty, and community members.
This year, we will be continuing the event for an extra hour this year to accommodate our visitors.
We are hoping that we can count on previous volunteers returning, and new volunteers participating for the first time!
We have dozens of positions that we need filled, and several time options to choose from. A list of positions available and a short description of each position is detailed below. Time slots are also included.
We will try to accommodate position requests on a first come, first served basis. Your time requests WILL be honored, as we understand that many campus departments may have their staff volunteer in shifts.
EarthFest is an event that highlights how communities can come together to protect and preserve our environment, our towns, and ourselves - it's all about sustainability!
Why not become a part of the team and volunteer at what has become one of the largest celebrations of Earth Day on the East Coast?
Are you a local community member or a member of an area organization that would like to help out? Contact us! We'd be happy to have you!
Please feel free to sign up for multiple shifts! We understand that work and class schedules may limit your ability to volunteer for an entire shift. Please let us know and we can accommodate your schedule - we would love to have you participate in any way you can!
Distribute bags, EarthFest Passports, and event maps. Give general event information as needed.
Primary location to distribute EarthFest Passports. Sole location for returning EarthFest Passports. May need to help direct attendees to key exhibitors featured on the Passports. (Map will be provided for your reference.)
Sell event t-shirts. All materials and pricing information provided.
Assist visitors in finding their way through the event, including each exhibitor area, restrooms, dining areas, the and main stage. Give general event information as needed. Ensure safety of visitors and Temple property.
Participate in a large team that organizes bus drop off, pick up, and parking. Also assist in directing other event vehicular traffic as well as the normal traffic from students, staff and faculty during the day.
What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to participate in a day-long celebration of sustainability where you can help children of all ages learn what they can do to better their communities? Along with the satisfaction of being a part of this event, all EarthFest volunteers receive a t-shirt (to be worn the day of the event) and a free lunch during the event. Temple Ambler student volunteers are recognized at the Student Leadership Banquet in May.
Thank you in advance for your support! It is only through the support of our campus and neighboring communities that we can ensure that EarthFest will be a success!
It is important that you respond with your volunteer position/time requests and any special needs as
soon as possible!
